Episode 25: Letting Go of Childhood Trauma
Hey Guys! Remember when we talked in Season One about going to therapy? Well into today’s episode we wanted to go a bit more in-depth and specifically talk about dealing with unresolved childhood trauma.
In previous episodes, Danielle has talked about how being molested as a child has taken a toll on her relationship with herself and others. She’s had issues with self-esteem and unhealthy relationships with food stemming from her hatred for herself. Over the past few years, she has been on a journey to heal herself and be happy from the inside. She realized that in order to live the life she wants, she had to deal with her demons head-on.
Mel has had a share of issues that she’s had to let go of herself and is still working to get over. As a mother, she wants to make sure her kids thrive in a healthy environment, but sometimes she struggles with making sure she’s not damaging them herself.
To discuss this we have Devin A. White. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker currently working at a middle school in central Jersey. He is serving students in grades 6-8 facilitating individual, group, and family therapy services. Devin also works with couples families and individuals part-time in a local private practice.
